"Luck and Hope" (Santa Pola, Spain, 2022)
This artwork was created in high quality paper along with other two pieces in the same style but different colour, during my holidays in Santa Pola, Alicante, Spain, after an unexpected break up.
At the moment, it felt like it didn’t have any sense, because when you are in love, you are blind to what is very in front of you. Then, your brain understands everything like if someone was reading a book to you, loudly!
What I love the most in my art is that it always tells me a story that I don’t know yet, because it is in the unconscious and it needs time to come to the light of my logical eyes.
Here I was painting happiness and hope, but fighting to cheer me up by traveling and meeting the people that I love the most, my friends and family, while planning my next steps. So, I did this roadtrip between Marbella - Cordova - Granada - Alicante. Also, to drive has always helped me to focus in my thoughts, and it relaxes me a lot.
My unconscious was telling me that it was glad that my situation had changed, that where I was, it wasn’t my place to stay, that I was suffocating, and that now we have something more suitable for us.
Luck and Hope arrived! Finally!
The year that followed from there was fantastic! One of my best years so far. But it couldn’t have happened without that previous break up.
It is funny how life works, but I feel lucky that even some moments are tough because you cannot understand them (yet), I always try to remember that we must keep the HOPE and keep fighting for our LUCK to work its way.
